Job Descriptions
The CSVS job description (JD) examples are developed alongside the Vascular Science Job profiles. The purpose is to support the development of job descriptions within a department to ensure appropriate levels of work defined for each banding. The description should be a minimum and is not exhaustive. You should also include work specific to role if required, after considering if it is covered in another JD at a higher or lower level.
There are no rules as to what job title is used, however we encourage using the above examples, and a job description may encompass a small or wide range of the duties in the example JDs. These should be considered and entered into a JD following the appropriate format or template for the organisation. The template provided demonstrates the various aspects of roles using UK National Job Profiles and CSVS Job Profiles, and is to be used as guidance in developing and standardisation of Vascular Science service job descriptions. The column on the right demonstrates suggested levels as per the JE scoring system in the UK National Healthcare Science profiles and the NHS Job Evaluation Handbook.
