We are looking for a motivated Lead Vascular Scientist to manage all aspects of the Vascular Science Service. You will be based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, with the requirement to travel across sites within the Sussex Vascular Network, which covers a population of at least 1.6 million patients.  

You will provide leadership, vision and direction for the Vascular Science Service working alongside the General Manager and Lead Clinician. 

The Vascular Assessment Unit undertakes many different examinations from simple ankle brachial pressure measurements to complex vascular imaging studies.  All examinations performed are non-invasive. The post holder will provide line management to 8 Vascular Clinical Scientists/trainees who support the network wide service.

You will be required to have extensive management, leadership, and clinical experience to ensure the implementation of the Trust objectives and to support, co-ordinate and supervise the activity of the Vascular Science Service within the agreed budget.

You will be responsible for undertaking, supervising and teaching complex Vascular Science procedures with adherence to clinical standards. The post holder will be responsible for managing the clinical caseload coordinating activity to maximise resource potential.  This will involve interpreting complex clinical data and acting as a clinical expert to provide professional advice and recommendations for the service.
