IMPERIAL COLLEGE HEALTHCARE NHS TRUST
CLINICAL VASCULAR SCIENTIST - BAND 7
An exciting opportunity at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has arisen. The vascular scanning department is one of the largest in London which covers services over three sites, Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. We have close relationships with the consultants and the LAVVU team, especially at Charing Cross with clinics, scanning rooms and a LAVVU theatre all on the same floor. We are seeking another Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our large team of 11 clinical vascular scientists plus 2 STP students. Our job involves an interesting case load, we perform the full spectrum of vascular scans, plus specialist investigations such as AV fistula, TCD, TCCD for sickle cell and mesenterics for MALS and nutcracker syndrome.
We support continued professional development, with interests in research, teaching or the SVT actively encouraged with allocated non-clinical time for CPD. There are regular opportunities to attend conferences including the annual SVT and CX symposium. We are an accredited STP & HSST training centre and play an active role in the programme. We take on an STP student every two years and help with the recruitment, interview and training of the students.
We would expect you to be independently scanning and reporting and if not accredited with the Society for Vascular Technology, working towards this. We will review and accept applicants who are still training, on the appropriate banding.
Part-time applications will be considered.
