TITLE: CLINICAL VASCULAR SCIENTIST

GRADE: BAND 7

 SALARY SCALE: £40,872 - £47,846

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week            CONTRACT DURATION: PERMANENT

LOCATION: VASCULAR LABORATORY, WORCESTER ROYAL HOSPITAL (BASE)

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our small friendly team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust; providing a comprehensive range of non-invasive vascular examinations across both Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

The vascular lab currently consists of three senior clinical scientists, two trainee vascular scientists and a lab co-ordinator. We are looking for experienced candidates that should hold either AVS accreditation or be HCPC registered, however highly experienced candidates without these credentials will also be considered.

The successful applicant will work closely with various other clinical staff, including 6 Consultant Vascular Surgeons, Radiologists, Nurses and a wide range of other clinical/non-clinical staff both within the Trust and externally. The Lab has 3 ultrasound scanners, 2 Canon Aplio i800 and a Sonosite Edge II based within the department, utilising Philips EPIQ machines at tertiary units, a treadmill and facilities to measures ABPI and TBI.

You will be expected to perform a full range of vascular investigations including carotid artery duplex, upper and lower limb arterial duplex, abdominal aorta and iliac segments and all venous work, pre-operative vein marking, ABPI testing, toe pressure readings and bypass graft scanning including EVAR graft surveillance scans.

We can offer regular clinical team meetings with case discussion and personal development planning to meet CPD needs. Staff are encouraged to contribute to service planning, innovation and research.

This position is for 37.5 hours per week (full-time)
