The Liverpool Vascular and Endovascular Service (LiVES) at Liverpool University Hospital Foundation Trust are looking for an accredited or nearly accredited Clinical Vascular Scientist/Sonographer to join our friendly unit which presently consists of 6 clinical vascular scientists. We provide vascular investigations to 12 vascular surgeons and are supported by a team of Vascular Specialist Nurses, healthcare support workers and administrative staff. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, an excellent team player and committed to the delivery of high quality patient care.
Our vascular unit is based over two sites and supports multidisciplinary working and one stop clinics with up to date high quality equipment. We have five main ultrasound machines within the department (1 Philips EPIQ 5 & 4x GE Logiq 10s.)
We carry out a wide range of vascular investigations including carotid, aorta, upper and lower limb arterial and venous assessments, graft surveillance, imaging of endovascular aneurysm repair including contrast enhanced ultrasound. To be considered for appointment at Band 7, applicants should be accredited with the Society of Vascular Technology and/or have a PG Dip in Ultrasound with HCPC registration and relevant experience. We are happy to consider applicants with less experience or who are currently working towards SVT accreditation or have recently finished/nearly finished the STP training programme, but appointment in this case may be at a lower banding.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week (full-time) but part-time hours may be considered for the right applicant. There is cross site working between the departments on the Royal Liverpool and Aintree sites and very occasional requirement to visit the Broadgreen site. Free staff transport is provided between all sites.
We actively support staff and promote professional development. the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department by extending your role out to the wider service which can include training of other staff, developing new skills and roles within aneurysm screening.
Liverpool is a vibrant city with history founded in the arts and the red and blue of two premiership football teams. Liverpool is supported by excellent transport links and the Sefton coast is within a 30 minute drive with areas of special scientific interest and outstanding features.
Please note: A face to face interview is required as you will need to give a presentation to the panel.
